SYNOPSIS

Evita charts the meteoric rise of Eva Duarte from poverty to becoming Argentina’s First Lady. Narrated by the cynical observer Che, the story follows Eva’s journey from provincial teenager to national icon.

Through ambition, charisma and political instinct, Eva Perón becomes a powerful figure adored by the working class and reviled by the elite. As her influence grows alongside her husband Juan Perón’s presidency, Eva’s life unfolds against a backdrop of political upheaval, fame, controversy and ultimately tragedy.

Featuring some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre including Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, Another Suitcase in Another Hall and Buenos Aires, Evita tells the story of power, myth-making and the complex legacy of one of the twentieth century’s most fascinating figures.
