PRINCIPAL ROLES

Eva Perón (Eva Duarte)
Ambitious, charismatic and driven. Eva rises from poverty to become Argentina’s First Lady and the beloved champion of the working class. Requires a strong singer and actor capable of carrying the emotional arc of the show.

Che
The narrator and commentator on Eva’s rise. Observes and critiques the events of the story. Strong rock-tenor role with significant stage presence.

Audition piece required – “Oh What a Circus”

Juan Perón
An ambitious military officer who becomes President of Argentina. Calculated, authoritative and politically astute.

Audition piece required – “She’s a Diamond”

Agustín Magaldi
A tango singer who helps Eva escape her provincial life and travel to Buenos Aires.

Audition pieces required – “On This Night of a Thousand Stars”

Perón’s Mistress
Young woman discarded when Perón begins his relationship with Eva.

Audition piece required – “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”


ENSEMBLE

The ensemble portrays many groups throughout the show including:

Descamisados (the working-class supporters of Perón)
Aristocrats / upper class
Military officers and soldiers
Political supporters and opponents
Crowds, radio audiences, political rallies

Please note that for if you are auditioning for an ensemble role and not a lead role, you will be required to sing:
Males: Opening of Oh What A Circus
Females: Another Suitcase In Another Hall

Ensemble roles require strong singer-actors comfortable with movement and character work.
